Serfontaine jeans are the brainchild of designer Mik Serfontaine, whom traces his roots to Serfontaine, Belgium where his family crest still hangs. After years of scouring local flea markets for vintage jeans and graduating from design school, Serfontaine developed an uncanny appreciation and understanding of denim which he later harnessed to create Serfontaine Denim. During 1997, Mik designed, manufactured, and sold his first jean, “The Easy Rider” in his Venice, California boutique. In 2000, Serfontaine was the backbone of the yet unheralded West Coast denim movement attracting such stars as Britney Spears, J-Lo, and Beyonce to flaunt his jeans.
